Hello Spring!

Say goodbye to Winter…

Even though Autumn is my favourite season, Spring does bring a refreshing change. It welcomes new life, warmer days, and an array of beautiful flowers are bursting out the ground from their Winter home. This new season may not officially start till the end of the month but the lighter mornings and sun filled days are enough to get me into the mood for Spring.

The next few months are a great opportunity to try out something new or reminisce on something which you haven’t done in a while. One of the first few things I did at the beginning of this month was grab my trusted camera and venture into the garden to photograph the flowers in full bloom. Snowdrops come out in force each year and coat the garden floor in white petals and green stems. It’s such a delight to see. So of course I had to capture the moment in pictures. More on how I edit them in a later blog post. Make sure you make the most of Spring, I have a few suggestions to help inspire you.

Things To Do This Spring…

☼ Visit a local farmers’ market and buy some fresh fruit and veg… Switching to lighter meals and more salads is a great way to kick start the new season with a healthy diet. I love a good fruit salad.

☼ Bringing new plants and flowers into the home whether it comes from your garden or shop brought, helps to brighten up the rooms.

☼ Head out for a walk at a local park or travel a bit further and venture along a scenic hike. Wrap up warm though, and be prepared for all weathers. Its a bit temperamental this time of year. Its always great to get outside and see the changing landscape.

☼ If you’re really up for a challenge whilst out on your walk, grab a sketchbook and draw the scenes around you, go back in a few months to see how the landscape has changed.

☼ We all love our cosy knits and blankets but they won’t be needed as the weather gets warmer. Swapping them out for lighter fabrics is best suited for Spring. If it gets a bit cold layering up is a great look.

☼ While sorting things out there’s nothing like a Spring Clean. I know it’s not as fun as the other activities but a clean room really helps productivity wise.

☼ If you need a bit of a break from house chores a trip to the zoo with your family is a well loved option, more animals will be out basking in the sun and it’s fun for everyone. Packing a picnic instead of buying a meal out is a cheaper option and allows you too spend more time outdoors viewing the animals.

☼ The weather in Britain isn’t always perfect, lets admit it. We have busy and hectic lives often ignoring the world outside, so take a moment to listen to the rain and watch it fall down the window. Light a candle, and grab a cup of tea for the ultimate cosy day in.

Let me know if you decide to try any of these suggestions, if you do have fun.

Hope you all have a wonderful Spring. What is your favourite season??

I love these nature posts! Some great ideas here to get back outdoors to appreciate the changes Spring brings. My favourite seasons are Spring and Autumn as they are both the most interesting for the changes they occur and help me when it comes to making changes! I will be writing my Spring post today in time for the first day of Spring tomorrow 😊 lovely post! One of my passions, this subject.
